Step 3: Readers Notebook: Reflections about Mistakes
You will maintain a Readers Notebook as a place for you to write your reactions to the play and to record your assignments.
In your Readers Notebook, complete the following journal entries before reading.
- One of the themes in Romeo and Juliet is that decisions can have long term consequences. Complete a quick write (short journal entry) discussing w hat currently guides your decision making? Revisit at the end of the unit to write a reflective essay.
- Reflect on a time in your life when you made a mistake and recognized it on your own. What lesson(s) did you learn from evaluating your mistake?

You will copy the 14-line sonnet into your Readers Notebook.

- What do we learn about the drama from reading the Prologue?
- What form of writing did Shakespeare use for the Prologue?
