Topic outline

  • General

Participation in the Professional Learning Community (PLC) for IITI will increase teachers understanding of quality instruction with embedded technology in the classroom. The PLC for IITI will meet throughout the school year and will share lessons, resources and beliefs about themselves as teachers and learners, as well as beliefs about all students.

The participants will understand how technology plays a part in all the Ingham ISD initiatives including: Response to Intervention (RtI), Understanding by Design (UbD), Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and Differentiated Instruction (DI). Presenters will include in their presentation examples of how technology can be integrated into the classroom instruction.

The presenters will also demonstrate examples of pro-active lesson planning, clear goals, how to provide flexible means for students to achieve goals, and flexible evaluations for students to demonstrate their knowledge.

Students are using technology daily outside of school for recreation and learning. Teachers need to understand and use the technology that students and families are using to communicate, share information and learn.

The IITI PLC participates will be developing their own personal learning network (PLN), they can learn and teach each other, continue to share with other members of the PLC after presentations and increase their understanding of the learners in the their classrooms. Participants will be able to register for the PLC PD series or for individual PD sessions.
